Lookalike Audiences let you find new potential fans similar to your existing audience. Here's how to create them:

What Do I Need To Know Before Setting Up Lookalike Audiences?

  • Pixel Data: Have data from at least 100 people in the same country for accurate audience targeting.

  • Focus on Tier I Countries: Allocate most of your budget to Tier I countries for higher royalty payouts, even if CPC rises. This strategy helps gather quality data. The only way to get beyond these target limitations is by using ArtistHub’s Pixel Segmentation.

Once you have accumulated many thousands of clicks through ArtistHub using the Website Clicks Campaign Objective, please follow the directions below:

1. Access Audiences:

  • Go to the Audiences section in Facebook Business Manager.

2. Create a Custom Audience:

  • Select "Website" as the source and then

  • Choose the ArtistHub event from the dropdown menu.

Yes, we created a separate pixel event specifically for ArtistHub within Facebook.

3. Set Retargeting Window:

  • Adjust the retargeting window between 30 to 180 days based on your preference.

4. Refine by Platform:

  • Filter your audience by specific platforms, such as Spotify or Apple Music, using URL filters.

  • We are going to create two separate Custom Audiences, one for Spotify and one for Apple Music. Click ‘Refine By’ + ‘URL/Parameter.’ For your first audience, type ‘Spotify’ in the box below ‘URL contains.’

  • Why create custom audiences for each platform? Each audience will only create data for people who specifically clicked those streaming platforms, which is a great way to avoid audience overlap and optimize each for service. You can do this for YouTube, Tidal, along with any other service that’s currently supported by ArtistHub.

5. Name Your Audience:

  • Name your audience to be properly organized and relevant to each streaming platform. (For example: ArtistHub Spotify 180 if you are making a Spotify audience, or ArtistHub Apple 180 if you creating one for Apple Music).

6. Create Lookalike Audience:

  • Select your custom audience, click the menu ‘...‘ and choose "Create Lookalike."

Note: The lower the lookalike percentage, the closer Facebook will try to keep your targeting to your fans that have clicked on your landing pages. (We recommend creating smaller, higher quality lookalike audiences between 1-2%.)

7. Facebook will automatically name the Lookalike Audience, there is no need to edit anything else. Click ‘Create Audience.’

Congratulations! You have successfully created a Lookalike Audience! You can now use your new Custom Audience for targeting.

Additional Tips

  • Optimize for Landing Page Views: This can improve ad performance over using Link Clicks as your objective.

  • Overcoming Target Limitations: Use ArtistHub’s Pixel Segmentation to enhance targeting in competitive spaces.
